We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our growing team. This position will support our Boulder and Longmont clinics approximately 3–4 days per week.

Position Overview

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection, preparing samples for laboratory processing, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

The ideal candidate is confident in their technical skills, highly organized, and passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care. We are looking for someone who understands that even a routine blood draw is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a patient's healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities

Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection

  • Verify patient identity and accurately match specimens to laboratory orders.
  • Properly label, process, prepare, and package specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Follow established specimen handling, storage, and transportation protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of specimen collection and processing.
  • Identify and resolve specimen collection issues, including difficult draws and inadequate samples.
  • Monitor laboratory supplies and assist with inventory management.

Patient Experience & Clinical Support

  • Create a welcoming, comfortable, and reassuring environment for every patient.
  • Explain blood collection procedures clearly and address patient questions or concerns.
  • Demonstrate patience, compassion, and professionalism with patients who may experience anxiety or discomfort during blood draws.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support efficient patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Uphold Cloud Medical's commitment to exceptional, relationship-centered service.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA standards, infection prevention protocols, and applicable laboratory regulations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked phlebotomy stations.
  • Ensure proper disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials.
  • Adhere to laboratory quality assurance and specimen integrity standards.
  • Report specimen collection errors, safety concerns, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Support compliance with established clinical policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent documented clinical experience.
  • Previous experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection.
  • Strong knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Boulder and Longmont clinic locations.

Preferred

  • National phlebotomy certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent).
  • 1–2 years of professional phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience working with Quest Diagnostics or other major reference laboratories.
  • Experience in primary care, outpatient clinics, or private medical practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Cerbo.
  • Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Pay: $18.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
