Phlebotomist

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary draws for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood collection process.
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment by adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Accurately label and document samples for laboratory analysis.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to phlebotomy.
• Urinalysis (urine dip)
• Handle specimens according to laboratory standards and protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a GP Practice or hospital setting
• Proven experience in phlebotomy
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to blood collection and laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Working Pattern

Monday: 08:00 - 18:00

Wednesday: 08:00 - 18:00

Friday: 08:00 - 14:00

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
