Pay Rate: $35/hr

Location: Carlinville, IL

Shift: Mid Shift, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Experience: Minimum 1 year

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens, verify patient identities and test orders, maintain specimen integrity, and follow infection control and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and supplies for blood collection.
• Verify patient identity and explain procedures to help ease patient concerns.
• Perform venipuncture and finger-stick blood collection.
• Perform heel sticks, arterial punctures, and Allen’s tests.
• Label, store, and handle specimens appropriately.
• Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens.
• Verify test orders and medical necessity, and enter orders into the computer.
• Follow Universal Precautions and infection control policies.
• Collaborate with other departments and participate in safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge of venipuncture and specimen collection procedures.
• Ability to identify patients and verify laboratory orders.
• Knowledge of specimen handling and infection control practices.
• Ability to perform assigned specimen collection procedures accurately.
