Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of samples, and providing excellent patient service. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Perform blood sampling and phlebotomy procedures with precision and care.
• Assist in the collection, labeling, and processing of laboratory specimens.
• Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during sample collection and analysis.
• Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Support laboratory staff in conducting various laboratory tests and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and ensuring comfort during procedures.
• Document all laboratory activities accurately and maintain records according to hospital standards.

Experience

• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory techniques is advantageous.
• Familiarity with patient service practices and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.
• A commitment to continuous learning and adherence to best practices in laboratory operations is expected.
