What they need

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Photo Booth Set-Up Technician to manage the critical "load-in and launch" phase of our event activations. Your primary mission is to transform a blank space into a fully functional, high-end photo experience before the event begins. You are responsible for hardware assembly, software calibration, and lighting aesthetics. Once the booth is "live" and tested, your shift is complete— no post-event strike or teardown is required. Key Responsibilities I. Transport & Load-In

  • Equipment Delivery: Safely transport and unload photo booth kiosks, backdrops, and lighting kits from the delivery vehicle to the activation footprint.
  • Spatial Placement: Position the booth and backdrop according to the event floor plan, ensuring optimal flow for guest traffic and safety.

II. Hardware & Aesthetic Assembly

  • Physical Build: Assemble the kiosk stand, mount the camera/iPad housing, and secure weighted backdrop stands.
  • Lighting Rigging: Set up and diffuse professional studio lighting (LED panels or strobes) to eliminate shadows and ensure high-quality skin tones.
  • Prop & Detail Management: Sanitize and neatly arrange the prop table; ensure the backdrop is wrinkle-free and perfectly centered.

III. Technical Calibration & Launch

  • Network Connectivity: Establish a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or Hotspot) for real-time digital sharing and cloud gallery uploads.
  • Software Configuration: Launch the event-specific interface, verify the digital "start screen" branding, and test the printer for alignment.
  • Image Quality Testing: Conduct "test shots" to calibrate exposure, focus, and white balance based on the venue's specific lighting conditions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all cables are safely tucked or taped down (gaffed) to prevent tripping hazards before handing the booth off to the event lead.

Requirements & Skills

  • Efficiency: Ability to complete a full technical set-up within a strict 60–90 minute window.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with iPadOS/Windows and a basic understanding of photography principles (lighting and framing).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and maneuver equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Independence: Capability to troubleshoot technical glitches (connectivity or printer issues) solo during the build phase.
