About the Position

Proper Watch Company is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Photographer & Videographer to produce high-quality photo and video content for our luxury watch business.

We are looking for someone who understands professional product photography, studio lighting, composition, and post-production. You should be comfortable working independently, operating Sony camera systems, and producing consistent, polished content for e-commerce, websites, and social media.

Experience photographing watches or jewelry is a plus, but not required. We value strong technical skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to produce exceptional results consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Product Photography

• Photograph luxury watches and other products for website listings, marketplaces, and marketing materials.
• Produce consistent product images with standardized angles, lighting, backgrounds, and composition.
• Capture detailed close-up and macro photography showing product features, materials, and condition.
• Set up, operate, and maintain professional studio lighting, including strobes, LED lights, softboxes, and diffusion equipment.
• Control reflections, glare, shadows, and exposure when photographing reflective surfaces.
• Maintain consistent image quality and color accuracy across different products.

Videography

• Film professional product videos, close-up details, and promotional content.
• Create engaging short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
• Capture smooth, cinematic product footage using appropriate camera movements, lighting, and composition.
• Plan and execute video shoots independently, from setup through final delivery.

Editing & Post-Production

• Professionally retouch product photographs, including color correction, exposure adjustments, background cleanup, and reflection management.
• Maintain accurate product colors, textures, and details without excessive editing.
• Edit videos with professional transitions, sound, color grading, and pacing.
• Export and optimize photos and videos for Shopify, e-commerce marketplaces, websites, and social media.
• Organize and maintain an efficient digital asset library with consistent file naming and folder structures.

Studio Management

• Develop and maintain repeatable photography workflows to ensure consistent results.
• Keep camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and studio workspaces organized and ready for daily use.
• Work efficiently to photograph and edit multiple products daily while maintaining high quality standards.
• Collaborate with the sales, inventory, and marketing teams to meet content deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in photography, videography, or commercial content production.
• Proficiency with Sony Alpha mirrorless camera systems, including manual camera settings, lenses, autofocus, exposure, and video recording.
• Strong understanding of studio lighting, light modifiers, composition, and color accuracy.
• Experience using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop or equivalent professional photo-editing software.
• Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent professional video-editing software.
• Ability to produce sharp, properly exposed, professionally edited product photographs.
• Understanding of video frame rates, shutter speeds, resolution, and basic color grading.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects from shooting through final delivery.
• A portfolio demonstrating both photography and videography skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience photographing watches, jewelry, luxury goods, or other highly reflective products.
• Experience with macro photography and controlling reflections on polished metal and glass.
• Experience creating content for Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with tethered photography workflows.
• Experience using flash photography, continuous LED lighting, diffusion panels, and studio modifiers.
• Experience creating premium, minimalist product imagery and social media content.
• Familiarity with Sony professional lenses and camera accessories.

We want someone who can take an ordinary product and make it look exceptional through proper lighting, composition, and editing—without relying on excessive retouching or artificial effects.

Consistency is especially important. Our photographer must be able to reproduce the same high-quality results across hundreds of products while maintaining an efficient workflow.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, has a strong eye for detail, and continuously looks for ways to improve our visual content.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
