Php Developer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer with 5-7 years of professional experience to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal, along with solid backend development experience using Laravel and/or CodeIgniter.

The role involves developing and maintaining CMS platforms, building REST APIs and integrations, working with MySQL databases, debugging legacy applications, and delivering secure, scalable and maintainable PHP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes/plugins and Drupal modules
• Build scalable backend applications and REST APIs using Laravel and CodeIgniter
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and indexes
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and services
• Write clean, secure, reusable PHP code following MVC and PSR standards
• Protect applications against SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF; optimize for speed and scalability
• Debug, test, and upgrade existing codebases, including legacy PHP/CodeIgniter projects
• Deploy and maintain applications using Git, Apache/Nginx, and CI/CD practices
• Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, QA, and project managers in an Agile/Scrum setup
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and suggest technical improvements

Good to Have:

• Experience with Redis/Memcached for caching
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean, GCP)
• Experience with WooCommerce or Magento
• Unit testing with PHPUnit
• Familiarity with Symfony or other PHP frameworks
• Experience with headless CMS setups
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a small team
