PHP Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a PHP Developer to join our engineering team and help build and maintain reliable, scalable web applications. You will work on new features, improve existing codebases, integrate third-party services, and turn business requirements into clean technical solutions. This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, writes maintainable code, and wants to grow in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP.

• Design, develop, and integrate REST APIs.

• Work with MySQL or other RDBMS databases, writing and optimizing queries.

• Build new features and enhance existing applications.

• Debug and resolve application issues promptly.

• Work with existing codebases to improve functionality and performance.

• Integrate third-party APIs and services.

• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment.

• Use Git for source-code management and collaboration.

• Understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2-3 years of hands-on PHP development experience.

• Strong knowledge of PHP and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

• Experience with Laravel, CodeIgniter, or another PHP framework.

• Strong knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL and SQL queries.

• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience with REST APIs and JSON.

• Good understanding of Git and version control workflows.

• Experience with Composer for dependency management.

• Basic understanding of Linux and Apache/Nginx.

• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of web application security principles.

• Ability to write clean, maintainable code.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with SaaS or enterprise applications.

• Hands-on experience with third-party API integrations.

• Experience with payment gateways, SMS, email, or similar integrations.

• Knowledge of Docker.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of Redis, caching, queues, or background jobs.

• Experience with database and application performance optimization.

• Knowledge of OWASP security practices.

• Exposure to AI/LLM API integration.
