PHP Engineer

Who you are

• 3+ years of experience
• A strong, business-oriented engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)
• High degree of ownership and autonomy
• A good understanding of a modern PHP framework like Symfony or Laravel
• Strong automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional, Behat)
• A keen desire to learn and contribute to a highly collaborative team
• Experience with Domain Driven Design
• Experience working on financial systems
• Experience with Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing

What the job involves

• We're looking for a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our US Loans team!
• Our engineering organisation is home to over 200 talented engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines
• You'll be working on a new product we're building within our existing US Loans team. It's built on our established lending platform and codebase, so you'll help shape something new while working alongside experienced engineers who know the domain and the systems well
• You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from building and integrating new APIs to enhance the customer journey, to optimising our lending platforms, and engaging in deep architectural discussions. There's plenty to tackle, and we're excited to find the right people to take on the challeng
• We believe in using the right tools for the job, and our stack reflects our commitment to modern, efficient development:
• Backend: PHP 8, Symfony 7, AWS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions and ArgoCD (we deploy to production as soon as a feature is complete!)
• Testing: Behat, PHPUnit
