About the Job Role

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to manage after-sales support for robotics hardware at Unbox Industry and lead the team at Nferent AI working on robotics data collection and AI model deployment.

The role involves installing, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting new robotics products, as well as training and guiding the team on their use. The candidate will work closely with robotics hardware, emerging AI technologies, and international clients, ensuring smooth product operation and project execution.

What you'll own

Data collection & model deployment -Nferent AI (80% Work Effort)

• Lead a team of research engineers on daily capture: set protocol, assign work, review output, unblock people on the floor
• Own the full capture stack -ego cameras, 3D/stereo cameras, UMI-class handheld grippers, teleop systems, leader-follower arms, cobots, humanoids, data gloves ncluding calibration, multi-camera sync, and pose validation
• Keep learning new hardware on an ongoing basis: bring up unfamiliar devices, write internal SOPs, and train the team on each
• Define and enforce data QC - coverage, task diversity, file structure- so datasets pass customer acceptance the first time
• Help fine-tune and deploy VLA models (e.g. 0.5) on real robots; set up cloud training + local inference, run structured evaluations, and use failures to inform what gets captured next.

After-sales support -Unbox Industry (20% Work Effort)

• Own post-sale installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting for all robotic and non-robotic products we sell a on-site or remote
• Serve as the technical escalation point for sales, including on pre-sales calls where a technical answer decides the deal
• Diagnose field failures and drive warranty/RMA cases with OEMs through to closure, including the paperwork our distribution/import role requires
• Run customer training and handovers; build commissioning checklists and troubleshooting SOPs so support doesn't depend on one person's memory
• Track recurring failure modes across brands and feed them back into what we stock and

recommend

What we're looking for
Required

• 3+ years in robotics, automation, or mechatronics with real hands-on hardware time -not just simulation
• Strong Python, comfortable in Linux; can script and debug without hand-holding
• Working knowledge of ROS/ROS 2, kinematics, and coordinate transforms
• Hands-on experience with industrial or collaborative robot arms- setup, integration, fault diagnosis
• Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor a small technical team
• Comfortable talking to a plant manager and an OEM engineer in the same afternoon
• Willing to travel to customer sites and work on-site in Gurugram

Preferred

• Experience with teleoperation, UMI-style capture, MoCap, or egocentric data collection
• PyTorch/CUDA; exposure to VLA or imitation-learning models ( 0-family, OpenVLA, ACT, diffusion policy)
• Background in industrial after-sales or field service engineering
• Experience with humanoid platforms, dexterous hands, or tactile sensors
• Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning or robot learning.
• Experience with Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo or Gazebo.
• Experience with robotic arms, AMRs, humanoids or mobile manipulators.
• Experience deploying AI models on NVIDIA Jetson or edge GPUs.
• Experience working with real-world robotics datasets and data pipelines.

Education
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, AI/ML, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
