Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and technically experienced Physical Security Systems Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and turnover of integrated physical security systems within mission-critical data center environments.
This individual will serve as a field-level technical resource responsible for helping ensure electronic security systems are fully operational, properly integrated, accurately documented, and functioning in accordance with design intent, operational requirements, and commissioning standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with enterprise video surveillance systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and integrated physical security platforms within complex commercial, critical infrastructure, or data center environments.
The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of identifying deficiencies, documenting issues, troubleshooting problems, coordinating corrective actions, and validating final system performance prior to operational turnover.
Candidates with programming, scripting, automation, or web-development experience are particularly encouraged to apply. These skills are desirable but are not required for the position. VMC is interested in individuals who can combine traditional physical security expertise with emerging automation capabilities to improve commissioning efficiency, testing, documentation, and quality control.

- Review commissioning documentation, drawings, device schedules, sequences of operation, and system programming to ensure field installations align with design intent.
- Identify and document deficiencies, operational failures, hardware issues, programming discrepancies, communication failures, device offline conditions, camera positioning issues, alarm reporting failures, and integration gaps.
- Develop and maintain detailed commissioning reports, punch lists, deficiency logs, and corrective-action tracking documentation.
- Coordinate with security integrators, low-voltage contractors, electricians, network teams, manufacturers, commissioning personnel, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and drive systems toward completion.
- Verify system performance, including:
- Device online status

- Ensure testing results, screenshots, photographs, and turnover documentation are complete, accurate, and organized for final client acceptance.
- Support integrated system testing and witness testing with clients, consultants, commissioning teams, and operations personnel.
- Verify commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with applicable life-safety requirements, project standards, manufacturer recommendations, and operational best practices.
