Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Part-Time
$35–$40/hour | Flexible Schedule
About Us
At HealthWest Physical Therapy, we help people move better, feel better, and perform better through personalized care. Since 2015, our clinic has focused on identifying the root cause of pain and delivering individualized, science-based treatment that restores mobility, strength, confidence, and quality of life.
We serve a diverse population—from competitive athletes and active adults to post-surgical and chronic pain patients—using a combination of manual therapy, movement-based rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and performance training.
Our clinic is located inside SoCal Volleyball Club, creating a unique environment for working with athletes while also caring for adults who want to stay strong, active, and healthy.
We are looking for a kind, motivated, and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant who enjoys connecting with patients, loves movement and exercise, and wants to be part of a supportive, growing private practice.
What We Value
- Empathy & Adaptability – You care deeply about your patients' progress and adjust your approach when needed.
- Continuous Growth – You're always learning and looking for ways to improve your clinical skills.
- Teamwork – You lift others up and contribute to a supportive, positive environment.
- Professionalism with Heart – You bring optimism, clear communication, reliability, and consistency every day.
- Quality Care – You take pride in providing thoughtful, individualized care rather than simply moving patients through a schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
Working under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist, the PTA will:
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions within the PTA's scope of practice and the established plan of care
- Guide patients through individualized therapeutic exercise, functional activities, and neuromuscular re-education and progressive rehabilitation programs
- Educate patients on exercises, movement strategies, injury prevention, and long-term health and wellness
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and changes with the supervising PT
- Collaborate closely with the PT and other team members to provide a cohesive patient experience
- Build positive relationships with patients and help create an encouraging, welcoming clinic environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment space
- Complete documentation that is simple, concise, accurate, and timely using a top-notch EMR system with AI-supported tools
- Follow HealthWest policies, procedures, and standards of care
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Current California Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable working with a variety of ages and activity levels
- Ability to work collaboratively with a Physical Therapist and clinical team
- Genuine interest in helping people move better and feel better
Preferred:
- Outpatient orthopedic experience
- Experience working with athletes or active adults
- Interest or experience in sports rehabilitation, strength, conditioning, or performance
- Strong therapeutic exercise skills
- A positive, energetic personality and willingness to learn
New graduates with the right attitude, clinical foundation, and desire to grow are welcome to apply.
What We Offer
- $35–$40/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Part-time schedule with approximately 16–24 hours/week
- Flexible scheduling
- Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows
- Continuing education opportunities
- Full gym inside the clinic
- Sports and performance-focused environment
- Supportive, collaborative team
- A low-drama, high-support work culture
- Opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced PT in a small private practice
- A chance to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives rather than simply moving through a high-volume schedule
