Responsibilities

• Implement prescribed physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of licensed therapists to facilitate patient recovery.
• Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and nurses to develop and adjust care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, address concerns, and motivate ongoing participation in therapy programs.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently by documenting treatment details, progress notes, and discharge planning information.
• Support discharge planning processes by providing detailed updates on patient progress and recommending follow-up care or home exercise programs.

Skills

• Proven experience in physical therapy treatment implementation across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology essential for accurate assessment and documentation.
• Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities to enhance patient outcomes.
• Proficient in clinical assessment documentation, medical documentation standards, and outpatient care protocols.
• Ability to operate medical equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Excellent caregiver communication skills paired with client-centered approach to foster trust and motivate patients throughout their recovery journey.
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficient documentation management.
• Familiarity with discharge planning processes and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions from treatment to home or community settings.
