Physical Therapist Assistant

In this role, you'll carry out treatment plans established by our supervising physical therapist, helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the supervising PT, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, and modalities
• Proactively guide patients through stretching, therapeutic activities, and prescribed exercises, progressing them within the parameters set by the plan of care
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation as directed by the supervising PT
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately in the patient record, consistent with clinical documentation standards
• Operate treatment equipment safely and in accordance with clinic protocols
• Report patient progress and any concerns to the supervising PT, who is reachable by phone throughout your shift
• Maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients about their treatment and progress
• Support discharge planning by preparing documentation and relaying post-treatment instructions as directed by the supervising PT

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Active, unrestricted PTA license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprinting/background check
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, and related medical terminology
• Comfortable working with some autonomy, with a supervising PT available by phone rather than on-site
• Excellent communication skills for patient and caregiver interaction
• Outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred

Schedule: Saturdays, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with additional weekday hours added as competence is assessed
Compensation: $28/hour

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 25.0 per week
