Responsibilities

• Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for therapy sessions.
• Assist patients with transfers, positioning, and mobility using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety during therapy sessions by monitoring progress and adjusting assistance as needed.
• Help with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining treatment plans clearly.
• Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality protocols while handling sensitive health information.
• Support rehabilitation care efforts by helping with exercises, stretching routines, and post-acute care activities under supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment notes, and session details in compliance with medical terminology standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or healthcare role is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to rehabilitation and orthopedics.
• Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively.
• Experience working in hospital or inpatient settings, especially within acute care or geriatrics environments.
• Excellent client communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient service.
• Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required or obtainable upon hire.
• Knowledge of patient transfer methods, inpatient care procedures, and post-acute rehabilitation practices is advantageous.
