Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and pediatric settings.
• Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques—including trigger point therapy—and use appropriate medical equipment to support patient recovery.
• Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, exercises, and safety measures to promote independence and optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and nurses to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and adjust interventions as needed based on physiology knowledge and clinical assessment documentation.
• Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards and ensure all medical documentation adheres to regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Valid certification or licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
• Skilled in the operation of medical equipment used during therapy sessions and familiar with electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
• Experience with clinical assessment documentation, medical documentation practices, and discharge planning processes.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and physical therapy treatment implementation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and caregivers effectively while fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care across diverse healthcare settings including acute care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services.

Pay: $45.91 - $65.24 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
