About Insight Wellness Clinic
Insight Wellness Clinic is a private outpatient practice in West Los Angeles providing an integrative approach to musculoskeletal care through Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and related wellness services.
Our patient population is diverse and includes recreational and professional athletes, active adults, and older adults. We emphasize individualized care, clinical reasoning, hands-on treatment, and a welcoming patient experience.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work closely with our Lead Physical Therapist and become an important part of the clinic’s physical therapy team.
About the Role
This position is for a PTA who enjoys hands-on orthopedic care and wants the opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Lead Physical Therapist in a smaller, individualized practice environment.
The PTA will assist the Lead Physical Therapist with patient care and treatment responsibilities, help manage the physical therapy caseload, and independently treat appropriate patients within the established plan of care and California PTA scope-of-practice requirements.
An important part of this role will be helping provide continuity of care by assuming additional patient-care responsibilities and providing coverage when the Lead Physical Therapist is traveling or otherwise away from the clinic.
This is an opportunity to become a key clinical team member rather than simply moving between high-volume patient schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Treatment: Provide physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of the Lead Physical Therapist and in accordance with established plans of care.
- Caseload Support: Assist the Lead Physical Therapist by taking responsibility for appropriate patients and helping manage the clinic’s physical therapy caseload.
- Provider Coverage: Provide continuity of treatment for established patients when the Lead Physical Therapist is traveling or unavailable, within the PTA scope of practice and established plan of care.
- Manual Therapy: Perform appropriate manual therapy techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support functional recovery.
- Therapeutic Exercise: Implement and progress therapeutic exercise and functional activities within the established plan of care.
- Integrative Treatment Support: Participate in appropriate clinic services such as assisted stretching, cupping, and digital assessment for orthotics when permitted within the employee’s scope, training, and clinic protocols.
- Patient Education: Reinforce home exercise programs, movement strategies, and patient education established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Clinical Communication: Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate relevant changes, concerns, and progress to the Lead Physical Therapist.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the clinic’s Physical Therapist, Acupuncturists, and other team members to provide coordinated patient care.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the clinic’s EMR and comply with applicable professional, Medicare, insurance, and clinic requirements.
- Clinic Support: Assist with patient flow, clinical organization, and other responsibilities that support efficient day-to-day clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted California Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently within the PTA scope of practice while communicating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist
- Commitment to high-quality, individualized patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine experience
- Experience with manual therapy and assisted stretching techniques
- Familiarity with orthopedic and sports-related injuries
- Experience working with active adults, athletes, pediatric, or geriatric populations
- Interest in integrative medicine and whole-person healthcare
Dedicated new graduates with strong orthopedic skills, professionalism, and a desire to grow in an individualized clinical environment are encouraged to apply!
