Physical Therapist Assistant - PRN

Overview

Maple Manor Rehab Center of Novi is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy techniques, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care across diverse settings. As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans, assist in patient recovery, and promote optimal mobility and function. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient well-being in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, and rehabilitative environments.

Duties

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
• Perform therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other physiotherapy techniques to facilitate recovery.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper functionality.
• Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems adhering to clinical documentation standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to explain procedures and foster understanding of care plans.
• Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and report any concerns or adverse reactions promptly.

Experience

• Prior experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in inpatient hospital units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation practices aligned with healthcare standards.
• Experience with physical therapy treatment implementation such as manual therapy techniques and trigger point therapy is desirable.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to physiotherapy treatments and client care plans is required.
