Benton Franklin Orthopedic Associates is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient orthopedic physical therapy team.

This position is for a Physical Therapist Assistant — not a Physical Therapy Aide. The PTA will work directly with our Physical Therapists to provide hands-on patient care and carry out established treatment plans for patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Carry out established plans of care and therapeutic exercise programs
• Assist patients with strengthening, mobility, balance, flexibility, and functional activities
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions within the PTA scope of practice
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients regarding exercises, proper technique, and home exercise programs
• Accurately document treatments and patient progress in the electronic medical record
• Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-focused treatment environment
• Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, physicians, clinical staff, and other members of the care team
• Assist with maintaining an efficient patient flow throughout the therapy department

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current Washington State Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred, but we are willing to consider a strong new graduate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively in a busy outpatient environment
• Commitment to providing excellent patient care and working as part of a team

About the Practice

Benton Franklin Orthopedic Associates is an orthopedic practice serving the Tri-Cities community. Our physical therapy department works closely with our orthopedic providers to provide coordinated care for patients with a wide variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
