Duties

• Assist physical therapists with patient intake, positioning, and transfers using proper patient transfer methods to ensure safety and comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up equipment, supplies, and ensuring cleanliness according to hospital standards.
• Support patients during therapy sessions through manual handling techniques, ensuring proper body mechanics and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient responses during therapy, documenting progress and communicating observations to the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while managing sensitive medical information with professionalism.
• Help with rehabilitation care assistance by guiding patients through prescribed exercises under supervision.
• Support hospital staff with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing supply inventories.

Experience

• Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or rehabilitation role is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices.
• Experience working in hospital environments, including inpatient or post-acute care settings such as orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care.
• Familiarity with patient transfer methods, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling procedures essential for safe patient movement.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and healthcare professionals while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Experience working in environments that require strict adherence to confidentiality policies and safety standards.
