Physical Trader (Precious Metals)

Key Responsibilities

• Execute client transactions in physical gold and related products, including sourcing, sales, arbitrage, and physical delivery.
• Manage the full physical trade lifecycle: inquiries, negotiation, contract execution, logistics coordination, settlement, and documentation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, refiners, customers, logistics partners, and counterparties.
• Monitor physical position risk and work closely with the paper trading team to implement effective hedging strategies.
• Track physical market trends, premiums/discounts, and identify new trading and arbitrage opportunities.
• Support business expansion, infrastructure development, and regulatory reporting for the physical precious metals business in Hong Kong.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in physical gold or precious metals trading.
• Good understanding of physical supply chain, logistics, quality specifications, and Hong Kong regulatory landscape (SFC, HKMA).
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, compliance, operations).
• Fluent in English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
• Experience in banking or financial institutions in Hong Kong is preferred.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Junior Physical Trader
