EXPERIENCED ORTHOPAEDIC PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA-C)

Location: Southern New Hampshire | Bedford, Nashua & Londonderry
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Chief Physician Assistant

Build Your Orthopaedic Career with a Leading Practice in Southern New Hampshire

Are you an experienced Orthopaedic PA looking for a role that offers clinical variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional team of orthopaedic specialists?

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center (NHOC), a division of Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance (NOA), is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our growing practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled orthopaedic provider who enjoys managing a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions and wants to expand their experience across multiple orthopaedic specialties.

You'll work collaboratively with fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons and experienced advanced practice providers while maintaining meaningful clinical independence. From acute injuries and walk-in care to fracture management and complex musculoskeletal conditions, no two days are exactly alike.

ABOUT NHOC

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center is one of Southern New Hampshire's leading private orthopaedic practices, providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients throughout the region. Our team includes fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, therapists, and dedicated clinical support staff—all working together to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

At NHOC, we value collaboration, clinical excellence, innovation, and professional growth. We are proud to offer providers the opportunity to build rewarding careers while making a meaningful impact on the patients and communities we serve.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position is ideal for an experienced Orthopaedic PA who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a broad scope of practice.

Rather than being limited to one subspecialty, you'll have the opportunity to work across the orthopaedic spectrum, including acute injury management, walk-in care, and collaboration with specialists throughout the practice.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide care across multiple orthopaedic specialties, including sports medicine, joint replacement, trauma, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, spine, and general orthopaedics.
  • Independently evaluate and manage patients within NHOC's Orthopaedic Walk-In Clinic.
  • Treat acute injuries, fractures, sprains, strains, sports-related injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management, rehabilitation recommendations, bracing, splinting, casting, and referrals.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice, including injections, aspirations, fracture care, casting, splinting, and other musculoskeletal interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopaedic surgeons and fellow advanced practice providers to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and preventative care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in a shared provider call rotation and assist with after-hours orthopaedic patient coverage.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE

  • Broad clinical exposure across multiple orthopaedic specialties.
  • Meaningful autonomy while practicing within a highly collaborative physician and APP team.
  • Variety in your day, including walk-in care, acute injuries, fracture management, and specialty orthopaedics.
  • Opportunity to work with a respected and growing private orthopaedic practice.
  • A supportive environment that values professional growth and clinical development.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on patients throughout Southern New Hampshire.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Current New Hampshire Physician Assistant license or eligibility for New Hampshire licensure.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of orthopaedic clinical experience.
  • Experience evaluating and treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active New Hampshire PA license.
  • Prior experience in a private practice orthopaedic setting.
  • Experience staffing orthopaedic urgent care or walk-in clinics.
  • Experience treating patients across multiple orthopaedic subspecialties.

SCHEDULE & CALL

  • Full-time position.
  • Flexible schedule based on practice needs.
  • Occasional evening clinic hours, including shifts extending until 8:00 PM.
  • Participation in a shared provider call coverage rotation.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

NHOC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support our providers both professionally and personally, including:

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement benefits
  • Generous paid time off
  • CME allowance
  • Professional dues and licensure support
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment
