Physician Assistant

Job Summary

Provides care to new or established patients in collaboration with physicians, demonstrating autonomy through evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and manages treatments within the scope of practice. Roles may include triage, telephone communication, and patient education.

Job Duties

• Assess and diagnose patients, developing treatment plans.

• Accurately document in electronic medical records, order tests, interpret results, and prescribe evidence-based therapies.

• Adjust or discontinue medications as needed.

• Report significant risks or concerns to the collaborating physician.

• Perform procedures within licensed scope.

• Communicate with physicians, patients, and staff via phone or other means.

• Provide safe, ethical care and health education in understandable language, acting as the patient’s advocate.

• Follow policies, meet deadlines, and meet departmental goals.

Work is performed mainly in a clinical setting. The role requires meeting job-specific obligations and organizational policies. Additional skills and competencies may be necessary based on departmental orientation.

Education

Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required)
