Job Overview: Telehealth Physician Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate, tech-savvy, and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our innovative telehealth team at MD Health Pathways. This role is ideal for a clinician who excels in virtual patient care, values collaboration, and is committed to providing high-quality medical services in a remote environment.

As a PA on our platform, you will work closely with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of non-emergent health concerns, with a focus on convenience, accessibility, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough virtual assessments, including obtaining medical histories and evaluating symptoms through secure telehealth platforms.
• Diagnose and manage a variety of non-emergent medical conditions, including infections, allergies, chronic illness management, and mental health referrals, under the guidance of a supervising physician.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medication use, health maintenance, and disease prevention using clear and empathetic communication.
• Accurately document patient encounters in accordance with clinical, legal, and regulatory standards.
• Refer patients for in-person evaluation, emergency care, or diagnostic testing when clinically indicated.
• Follow established clinical guidelines, ethical standards, and applicable telehealth regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Current and valid Physician Assistant license in Tennessee is required and must be in good standing.
• Licensure in Texas, South Carolina, and/or Illinois is strongly preferred.
• Candidates who are not currently licensed in Texas, South Carolina, or Illinois should be willing and eligible to obtain licensure in those states, as well as additional states as MD Health Pathways continues to expand.
• Comfortable working independently in a telehealth setting while recognizing when care should be escalated.
• Excellent communication skills with a warm, professional, and personable approach to virtual patient interactions.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to explain complex medical information in terms patients can easily understand.
• Prior experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or telehealth is preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced remote environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
• Flexible availability, including some weekends, is required to meet patient needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14.0 – 36.0 per week
