Physician Assistant

REEF Women & Children’s Hospital is a specialty hospital in Chennai offering obstetrics, fertility, gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery and paediatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Take patient histories, record vitals and prepare cases before consultant review in the OPD
• Document case notes, antenatal records and progress notes, and prepare discharge summaries
• Assist in antenatal, gynaecology and fertility clinics, including scan and lab follow-ups
• Monitor labour, including CTG interpretation and partograph maintenance, and alert the consultant to any deviations
• Assist in the OT for LSCS, hysterectomy, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures as first or second assistant
• Carry out ward rounds with consultants and execute treatment plans under supervision
• Handle pre-op preparation, consent documentation and post-op monitoring
• Counsel patients on diet, medications, follow-ups and warning signs
• Coordinate with nursing, lab, pharmacy and the paediatric team
• Work strictly under consultant supervision. PAs may not prescribe independently.

Requirements

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Physician Assistant from a recognised university
• 1–3 years of experience in OBG or a surgical setting preferred; freshers with a strong OBG internship may apply
• Working knowledge of labour monitoring, CTG and OT protocols
• BLS certification (NRP/ACLS preferred)
• Fluent in Tamil and English
• Good documentation skills and familiarity with HIS/EMR
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.
