Location: Uvalde Memorial Medical Center
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; additional availability outside normal clinic hours as needed
Lead Operations. Develop Teams. Drive Meaningful Results.
At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, strong clinic leadership helps create an exceptional experience for both patients and employees. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for assigned clinics and service lines.
In this role, you’ll lead Clinic Supervisors, Team Leads, and designated clinic staff while working closely with providers and organizational leadership. From improving workflows and developing teams to monitoring financial performance and supporting growth, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our clinics operate efficiently while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
In This Role, You Will:
- Oversee daily operations of assigned physician practices and service lines to promote efficient workflows and patient access.
- Monitor patient flow, provider schedules, appointment utilization, staffing levels, and overall clinic performance.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures and workflow improvements across assigned clinics.
- Lead and support Clinic Supervisors, Team Leads, and designated clinic staff through coaching, development, and accountability.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and retention efforts.
- Monitor key financial and operational measures, including patient volumes, provider productivity, labor productivity, overtime, collections, denials, charge lag, and accounts receivable.
- Assist with staffing plans, labor budgets, and departmental expense management.
- Review performance reports and develop corrective action plans when opportunities for improvement are identified.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle and clinic leadership to improve insurance verification, charge capture, coding accuracy, claims, collections, and denial management.
- Lead quality improvement efforts focused on patient satisfaction, clinic efficiency, staff productivity, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, state requirements, hospital policies, and other applicable standards.
- Address patient concerns that require escalation beyond the supervisor level.
- Partner with providers to improve scheduling, workflows, clinic operations, and patient access.
- Support strategic planning, organizational growth, new provider onboarding, and implementation of new services and workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of clinic operations, administrative processes, and medical terminology.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with providers, employees, patients, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Microsoft Office, and medical billing software.
- Ability to analyze operational and financial performance and help turn findings into meaningful improvements.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- A commitment to high-quality patient care, operational excellence, and a positive patient experience.
What to Expect in This Role:
This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a consistent presence within the clinics, typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Because operational and leadership needs may extend beyond regular clinic hours, Practice Managers are expected to remain available to address calls or other needs when necessary.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Have a meaningful impact on the performance and success of multiple clinics and service lines.
- Lead and develop supervisors, team leads, and clinic staff while building strong, collaborative teams.
- Work closely with providers and organizational leadership to improve operations and the patient experience.
- Use operational and financial performance data to identify opportunities and drive measurable improvements.
- Play an active role in strategic initiatives, new services, provider growth, and clinic development.
- Join a community-focused healthcare organization where your leadership can make a visible difference for employees and patients.
