Physiotherapist Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting licensed physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care within a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in patient care, medical terminology, and experience in acute environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and rehabilitation while working in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work Tuesdays (3 PM - 8PM), Thursdays (3PM - 8 PM), and Sundays (10 AM - 3PM)

Duties

• Assist physiotherapists with patient assessments and treatment plans
• Support patients during therapy sessions, including exercises and mobility activities
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use
• Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions
• Provide patient education on exercises, mobility techniques, and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress notes
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures

Experience

• Previous acute care experience is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience in patient care within a clinical setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices
• Familiarity with rehabilitation equipment and therapy techniques is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate approach with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patients efficiently

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 per week
