What they need

About Us:

Performance Physio Mareeba is a well-established, busy, multi-disciplinary private practice clinic committed to delivering personalised, high-quality care both in-clinic and in the community. Mareeba, located on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands just one hour inland from Cairns, is known for its laid-back lifestyle, warm community and stunning natural surrounds. Spend your weekends exploring the reef, the rainforest, the outback and the spectacular waterfalls - offering the perfect balance of rewarding work, adventure and relaxed Far North Queensland living.

Our team includes physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and remedial massage therapists who provide exceptional services to our local community and beyond. We provide services to the local Rugby League and Football teams, the local Retirement Village, and the surrounding remote communities through outreach trips. Our clinic offers multiple exercise classes, including Pilates classes, both in-clinic and offsite. Every day is different, offering large clinical variety and the opportunity to broaden your skillset.

We are ready to expand our team to include another physiotherapist, and look forward to welcoming someone who is passionate about making meaningful change in people’s lives. New graduates are welcomed to apply, and will receive a complete new graduate program.

What We Offer:

  • Supportive, fun, team-oriented work culture
  • Comprehensive, structured new graduate mentoring program – over 25 years combined clinician experience
  • Competitive above-award wage with the opportunity for performance-based commission
  • Existing caseload with large referral base and flexible scheduling options – 4-day work week, 9-day fortnight etc
  • Variable client-base including all ages and conditions, with potential to specialise - msk, sports, neuro, paeds, aged care, vestibular (utilising Vesticam goggles), lymphatics (international level training) and more
  • Mixed workdays - in-clinic, home visits, outreach trips (including travel allowance)
  • Modern, well-equipped practice with private consult rooms and exercise/Pilates room
  • Ongoing training and CPD opportunities – including fortnightly multi-disciplinary team in-services
  • Opportunities to lead or participate in wellness initiatives and community programs
  • Large community engagement – regular catch ups with local GPs
  • A chance to work autonomously while still being part of a supportive, collaborative team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and deliver personalised, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Deliver physiotherapy services in the clinic, at clients’ homes, and during scheduled outreach trips
  • Use a variety of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and patient education to promote recovery and prevent injury
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home-based exercises and self-management strategies
  • Document patient progress and maintain clear, accurate clinical records
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with GPs, specialists, and other allied health professionals when needed
  • Ensure safe and professional conduct while working independently in home and community settings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • Valid license/registration to practice as a physiotherapist in Australia
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport (for home visits and outreach)
  • Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on treatment skills
  • Excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills
  • Compassionate, respectful, and confident in working with diverse population
