PhythonX Automated Cutting Systems Technician

Position Summary

CJEMC is seeking a highly motivated PhythonX Automated Cutting Systems Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PhythonX automated cutting technology within our production environment. This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring cutting accuracy, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills, experience with automated manufacturing equipment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor PhythonX automated cutting systems to achieve production and quality objectives.
• Set up cutting equipment, tooling, materials, and production programs for daily manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and operational issues affecting system performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on PhythonX cutting equipment.
• Verify machine calibration and cutting accuracy according to company specifications.
• Load, edit, and optimize cutting programs to maximize efficiency and material utilization.
• Conduct routine inspections of cut components and materials to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve cutting processes and system performance.
• Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and operational documentation.
• Assist with equipment installations, software upgrades, and system improvements.
• Monitor consumables and replacement parts inventory.
• Train operators on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Follow all CJEMC safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree, certification, or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Automation, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, CNC machinery, or industrial automation systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software and machine control interfaces.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating PhythonX or similar automated cutting systems.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, nesting software, and CNC programming concepts.
• Knowledge of servo drives, motion control systems, vision systems, and industrial networking.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Use of safety equipment and PPE required.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required to support production schedules and equipment maintenance activities.
