Piano Teacher

Classically Trained Piano Instructor | The Studios Brookhaven

The Studios Brookhaven is seeking an experienced piano instructor to teach private lessons at our Brookhaven studio and in students’ homes throughout metro Atlanta.

We’re especially interested in a classically trained pianist who can teach beginners while guiding developing students into classical repertoire. Many of our students begin with curriculum books, and we need a teacher who knows how to bridge the gap between those books and pieces such as Mozart’s Sonata in C Major, K. 545 and the first movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

The right instructor can teach proper technique from the start, develop a student’s musicality, and choose repertoire that challenges them without rushing their progress. We value teachers who can explain how to practice and help students build the skills to tackle increasingly advanced music. Comfort teaching popular music or introducing basic improvisation would be a welcome bonus, but it is not required.

Lessons are offered both in-studio and in-home. In-home students may be located throughout metro Atlanta, and we make a deliberate effort to group assignments geographically to avoid lengthy drives between lessons.

Pay: $35 per 30-minute lesson or $65 per 60-minute lesson. Most of our students take 30-minute lessons.

To apply, please send your résumé, a brief description of your piano training and teaching experience, your availability, and the areas of Atlanta where you’re willing to teach in-home lessons.
