Pick & Place

We are looking for a skilled and dependable SMT Assembly Operator – Pick & Place to join our electronics manufacturing team in Montreal. This is a hands-on position for someone who can independently set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot SMT Pick & Place equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and production.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate SMT Pick & Place equipment.
• Perform feeder setup, component loading, changeovers, and machine adjustments.
• Verify components, feeders, programs, and production documentation.
• Run production while monitoring machine performance and product quality.
• Perform basic SMT program adjustments and corrections.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Troubleshoot common feeder, pickup, placement, recognition, nozzle, and machine issues.
• Monitor component availability and minimize production downtime.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow ESD, safety, quality, and production procedures.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of hands-on SMT / Pick & Place experience preferred.
• Strong machine setup and production-running skills.
• Basic SMT programming knowledge.
• Intermediate troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with feeder setup, component loading, and machine changeovers.
• Ability to read BOMs, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Good understanding of ESD and electronics manufacturing practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Technical Skills:

• Able to independently run equipment and respond to alarms and production issues.

• Able to perform feeder setup, changeovers, program selection, machine adjustments, and first-piece verification.

• Able to understand existing programs and make basic adjustments.

• Able to diagnose and resolve common SMT issues and know when to escalate.

Assets:

• Experience with SMT stencil printing, SPI, reflow ovens, AOI, SMT inspection, PCB assembly, IPC standards, and ESD-controlled environments is an asset.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
