Job Overview
HAVE TO BE ABLE TO MOVE AT A FAST PACE! Picking and Packing operative to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch, ensuring that all items meet quality standards and are handled efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience who are eager to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment. The position involves manual handling and requires adherence to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.

Duties

• Efficiently pick items from stock using warehouse management systems and manual methods
• Pack products securely, ensuring they are protected during transit
• Load and unload goods using appropriate materials handling equipment, including forklifts where qualified
• Manage shipping and receiving processes, verifying quantities and quality of incoming and outgoing stock
• Maintain accurate inventory records through stocktaking and updating stock levels in the system
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
• Assist with stocking shelves and organising the warehouse space for optimal efficiency
• Operate mechanical equipment safely and effectively, adhering to health and safety guidelines
• Support the movement of goods within the warehouse, including heavy lifting when necessary
• Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or related fields is preferred
• Knowledge of materials handling techniques and forklift operation (certification is advantageous)
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking & packing tasks
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Physical fitness suitable for standing for long periods and manual handling tasks
