Picker/Packer

Job Summary

We’re hiring a Picker/Packer to pull products off the shelves and get orders ready to ship. You’ll work from a printed pick list or a handheld screen, walking the aisles to collect each item, then bring them back to the packing bench. There, you’ll check everything against the order, add padding, and tape the box shut. It’s mostly standing and walking, with some lifting. Order volume tends to jump after lunch in a fast-paced environment, and we’ll show you where each product lives during your first few shifts. Some days the list is short, other days it’s not.

Responsibilities

• Collecting items from shelves using the pick list.
• Pack each order in the right size box, with paper or bubble wrap around anything that could break.
• Checking quantities against the order before sealing.
• Putting returned or misplaced items back where they belong.
• Label and stage finished boxes.
• Breaking down empty cartons and tossing them in the recycling bin.
• Sometimes helping count stock at the end of the week, which your supervisor will schedule ahead of time.

Qualifications

• Double-checking each item against the pick list comes naturally to you, since a wrong item means an unhappy customer and a return.
• Showing up on time for scheduled shifts matters, because orders back up quickly when a station sits empty.
• You can read product labels and pick lists in English and follow short spoken directions from a lead.
• When the orders stack up, you stay calm and work through them one at a time.
• We generally walk new people through the shelf layout, so being open to learning it is what counts.
• Keeping your station organized and finishing a batch before the carrier arrives takes steady time management.
• Treating coworkers with respect and pitching in when a neighbor falls behind keeps the floor running well.

Pay: $24.12 - $29.05 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 – 76.0 per week
