  • Create programming that appeals to beginner, intermediate, advanced, adult, and junior players.
  • Identify opportunities to increase participation, improve court utilization, and introduce new revenue-generating activities.
  • Establish and maintain annual and seasonal pickleball programming calendars.
  • Evaluate existing programs and implement improvements based on participation, member feedback, and financial performance.
  • Build positive relationships with members and create an inclusive, welcoming pickleball environment.
  • Actively engage with players on and off the courts to encourage participation and strengthen member retention.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for pickleball programming, activities, and member inquiries.
  • Maintain an accurate and current player database to support program communication and outreach.
  • Encourage participation across all skill levels while promoting sportsmanship and a positive club culture.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute successful pickleball tournaments, leagues, socials, clinics, and special events.
  • Work collaboratively with Club Management and Corporate Marketing to develop and promote pickleball programs and events.
  • Provide timely and accurate content for newsletters, club communications, social media, and the Spare Time member app.
  • Coordinate pickleball court scheduling and program reservations to maximize utilization while balancing member access.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience playing pickleball with a strong understanding of the game, rules, and player skill levels.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently plan, promote, and execute successful activities and events.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage members, build relationships, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including scheduling, spreadsheets, registration systems, and digital communication tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience leading clinics, leagues, tournaments, or recreational activities.
  • Pickleball teaching certification through PPR, IPTPA, PCI, or another recognized organization.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, move around courts, and participate in pickleball activities for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, and lifting of equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor recreational environments, including areas with moderate to high noise levels.
