About the Role

We are hiring a Pickler to support daily operations of our galvanizing facility. This position works in the pre-treatment area of the Galvanizing process, operating overhead cranes to submerge steel into sulphuric acid tanks to strip away impurities and ensures safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. The Pickler will also act as a key point of contact between the Galvanizer and Racking team, ensuring smooth communication and coordination of material throughput.

Shift: We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

• Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the pickling tanks, ensuring that all materials meet quality requirements.
• Observe and inspect all incoming materials for adequate hole placement and proper racking
• Operate overhead cranes in an observant manner to ensure safe material handling is upheld
• Process Monitoring: Check chemical tank efficiencies and follow required submerge times based on metal thickness and condition.
• Communicate effectively with Galvanizer, Racking Department, and the shift supervisor to ensure workflow efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Experience with operating overhead cranes in a production environment is required
• Pickling experience with a knowledge of hole placement for the galvanizing process is a strong asset
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with internal teams and management.
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
• Ability to monitor multiple tanks at the same time for different racks of varying pickling requirements
