Job Summary

Desert Man Transporting & Contracting LLC (DMTC) is looking for experienced GRP Pipe Fitters to join its construction and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, assembling, aligning and fitting Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes and fittings according to approved drawings, project specifications, manufacturer guidelines and site safety requirements.

Candidates should have hands-on experience in GRP pipeline installation, jointing techniques, pipe alignment and pressure pipeline works.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and fit GRP pipes, fittings, bends, tees, reducers, flanges and other pipeline components.
• Read and interpret pipeline layout drawings, isometric drawings and installation instructions.
• Measure, mark, cut, bevel and prepare GRP pipes for installation using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Perform GRP pipe jointing using approved methods, including butt-and-wrap, adhesive bonding, laminated joints or coupling systems, as required by the project.
• Ensure correct pipe alignment, levels, slopes and joint dimensions during installation.
• Assist in installing underground and above-ground GRP pipeline systems.
• Handle, lift and position pipes safely to prevent damage during transportation and installation.
• Check pipe surfaces, joints and fittings for visible defects before and during installation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, crane operators and other site personnel to complete pipeline works according to the project schedule.
• Follow approved method statements, installation procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Assist with hydrostatic pressure testing, leak inspections and rectification of joint defects as instructed.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any damage or defects.
• Follow company HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements and safe working practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping at the worksite and perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• ITI, vocational training or relevant technical certification is preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in GRP pipe fitting and pipeline installation.
• Previous experience in water transmission, drainage, sewage, irrigation or infrastructure pipeline projects is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of GRP pipes, fittings, jointing methods and installation procedures.
• Ability to read basic pipeline drawings and follow technical instructions.
• Knowledge of pipe measurement, cutting, alignment and installation tools.
• Awareness of pipeline testing procedures and site safety requirements.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors at construction sites.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors and engineers.
• Candidates with UAE or GCC construction project experience are preferred.
