Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pipe Layer to join our construction team, specializing in underground utility installation and pipeline projects. In this role, you will be responsible for laying pipes for water supply systems, sanitary drainage, stormwater management, and other utility systems. Your expertise will help ensure the safe and efficient installation of underground infrastructure in compliance with all safety regulations and construction plans. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including wastewater systems, sewer line installation, and oil & gas pipelines, contributing to vital community infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to prepare trenches and move materials efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately install pipes according to specifications.
• Perform construction trenching for utility installations while adhering to safety protocols and federal construction safety regulations.
• Install sanitary sewers, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and underground utilities with precision and attention to detail.
• Use pipe laser tools and other technical equipment to ensure proper alignment and elevation of pipelines during installation.
• Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation work begins.
• Complete concrete finishing tasks such as forming and pouring concrete around pipe installations when necessary.
• Follow all safety regulations diligently, including OSHA standards, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings and ensure construction aligns with project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks within a construction or pipeline environment.
• Strong knowledge of pipe installation techniques for sanitary drainage systems, sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater management, and wastewater systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately; experience with utility trenching is highly preferred.
• Skilled in welding, concrete finishing, pipe laser use, utility trenching, and the use of hand tools for various construction tasks.
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence on active job sites.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings related to underground utilities installation projects in oil & gas or municipal infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of underground utility locating methods to prevent damage during excavation activities.
• Construction site experience with a focus on sanitary sewers and stormwater system installation is desirable.
• Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation; additional certifications in welding or concrete forming are a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
