Pipe Layer/Laborer

WORKING PIPE LAYER / HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

We are seeking an experienced Working Pipe Layer/Heavy Equipment Operator to join our crew. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience with underground utilities and heavy equipment, including water and sewer mains/services and storm drain installation.

This is a hands-on position. Candidates must be comfortable operating equipment as well as working in the trench and assisting the crew when needed. Overtime is available during busy months, with occasional Saturdays and out-of-town projects. Employees are typically home on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, and storm drain pipe and structures
• Excavate, grade, and prepare trenches for pipe installation
• Read plans, shoot grade, and use lasers/levels
• Cut, align, connect, and seal pipe
• Backfill and compact trenches
• Safely operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
• Assist other crew members as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of underground utility and heavy equipment experience
• Ability to shoot grade and read plans/blueprints
• Knowledge of water, sewer, and storm systems
• Strong understanding of equipment operation and jobsite safety
• Able to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical work in varying conditions
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work well with a crew
• Must pass required background checks and drug testing
