Pipe Layer/Laborer

Job Summary

As a Pipe Layer/Laborer, you’ll help install and maintain underground utility systems, includin wastewater, stormwater, and sanitary sewer lines. You’ll prepare and work in construction trenches, set pipe to blueprint specifications, and support safe, efficient progress across the job site. Your impact: Accurate pipe installation helps communities rely on essential water and drainage systems.

Responsibilities

• Read construction plans and blueprints; interpret technical drawings and follow specified grades and layouts.
• Install pipeline and sewer lines using a pipe laser, hand tools, and utility locating methods.
• Perform utility trenching and construction trenching; support underground utilities installation and utility system installation projects.
• Operate heavy equipment as qualified, including loaders, backhoes, excavators, front loader trucks, and forklifts.
• Assist with concrete forming and finishing, and related site work while following safety protocols and applicable federal construction safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Construction site experience and familiarity with pipe installation, sanitary drainage systems, sanitary sewers, wastewater systems, stormwater systems, and water supply systems are preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, follow blueprint specifications, use hand tools, and adhere to safety regulations and site safety protocols.
• Heavy equipment operation experience is preferred; relevant equipment may include a loader, backhoe, excavator, front loader truck, or forklift.
• Concrete finishing, concrete forming, and utility locating skills are helpful.
• Plumbing or pipeline experience, including work in oil and gas, is a plus.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
