Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating pipe systems in accordance with blueprints, technical drawings, and industry standards. Duties

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures
• Perform pipe welding using various techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, and gas metal arc welding to join metal materials accurately
• Prepare pipe surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and fitting using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math for precise measurements
• Use plasma cutting and machining tools to cut, shape, and fabricate sheet metal components for piping systems
• Assemble pipe sections according to blueprint specifications while adhering to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and safety protocols
• Conduct quality inspections of welds using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and visual testing methods to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, materials, and waste disposal in accordance with safety guidelines

Experience

• Proven construction site experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and pipe welding projects
• Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including FCAW, SMAW, MIG, TIG, and gas metal arc welding within a fabrication shop or construction environment
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, mechanical blueprints, and technical drawings related to piping systems
• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes such as machining, plasma cutting, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication
• Ability to use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes
• Understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction sites; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
• Mechanical knowledge of pipe materials such as steel or other metals used in industrial piping systems
