Pipefitter Journeyman Department: Field Operations Location: DFW, TX | On-Site Role Type: Full-Time
About Our Client Our client is a leading mechanical contractor serving the Dallas, Austin, and Houston markets, with decades of experience delivering commercial, industrial, and service & maintenance solutions across Texas. Recognized by ENR as one of the Top 600 specialty contractors in the nation and a recipient of the ABC Top Performers award, the company has built its reputation on a simple but powerful foundation: strong partnerships, uncompromising performance, and doing the right thing. They specialize in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems for commercial and industrial clients, taking on everything from new construction to complex renovation and ongoing maintenance. Guided by core values of safety, reliability, and customer-first thinking, this is a company where the people are as important as the projects — and where every team member is part of what they call "Polk Nation."
Job Description The Pipefitter Journeyman will play a central role in the installation, modification, and repair of piping systems across commercial and industrial jobsites, with a focus on HVAC and mechanical systems. This is a skilled, hands-on position that demands both technical precision and the ability to plan and sequence work efficiently in dynamic construction environments. You'll be working on complex, high-performing mechanical systems where the quality of your work directly impacts building performance and client satisfaction.
Day-to-day, you will collaborate with project foremen, fellow tradespeople, and other crews to coordinate installation sequences, resolve field conflicts, and keep projects on schedule. From selecting pipe types and materials to welding, testing, and securing finished systems, you will own the full pipefitting scope on your assigned projects. The ideal candidate brings journeyman-level experience, a strong understanding of piping codes, and the spatial reasoning to translate plans into precise, code-compliant installations.
This role exists to meet our client's growing demand for experienced pipefitting talent across their commercial and industrial project portfolio. If you're a journeyman who takes pride in your craft, values a culture built on safety and mutual respect, and wants to grow with a company that has the size and reputation to offer long-term career opportunity — this is where you belong.
