Pipefitter Welder

Overview

Peak Air Mechanical is seeking a skilled Pipefitter Welder to join our team. In this role, you will fabricate, install, weld, and repair piping systems for commercial and industrial mechanical projects. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting blueprints, fitting pipe, and producing quality welds while following project specifications and safety requirements.

Duties

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair piping systems, including hydronic heating, chilled water, steam, and related mechanical piping.
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and fit pipe to ensure proper alignment and installation.
• Perform welding using processes appropriate to the material, project specifications, and required qualifications.
• Install valves, fittings, hangers, supports, and other piping components.
• Inspect completed work and perform pressure and leak testing according to project requirements.
• Safely operate welding equipment, cutting tools, grinders, threading machines, and other trade equipment.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete work efficiently and maintain quality standards.
• Follow jobsite safety procedures, including hot work, fire prevention, and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pipefitter Welder in commercial or industrial mechanical construction.
• Strong knowledge of pipe layout, fabrication, fitting, and welding techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials as required.
• Ability to produce quality welds and pass applicable welding qualification tests.
• Working knowledge of piping installation practices, pressure testing, and jobsite safety.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized pipefitting equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to assigned jobsites.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting materials, climbing ladders, and working in various jobsite conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Relevant welding certifications are preferred; specific qualifications may be required depending on the project.

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
