Piping CAD Engineer

We are seeking a talented Piping CAD Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis in the West Region. This is a strategic position within our organisation that plays a crucial role in the design and documentation phases of offshore and marine engineering projects. Your work will directly impact project timelines and the quality of our engineering outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Create shop drawings based on client given information, specifications, calculations and drawing to incorporating all details of shop drawings
• Make the drawings in keeping with company standards
• Provide MTO based on drawing details
• Able to read P&ID drawings, update as-building (e.g. redline)
• Required to maintain all drawing files, update drawings as needed, and make corrections to drawings as directed by the Section Head/ Leads
• Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary
• Responsible for drawings which shall be properly catalogued, stored and backed up and solving technical problems related to their field and production
• Explain drawings to Production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary
• Clarify and solve problems raised by production
• Provide technical support for project management
• Coordinate with team members and other discipline

What we're looking for

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Naval or equivalent) professional qualification
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in piping CAD design and drafting
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Spoolgen platforms
• Strong knowledge of piping design principles, standards and best practices (ASME, API, ISO codes)
• Experience in offshore, marine or subsea engineering projects is highly desirable
• Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time-sensitive deadlines
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to technical challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Professional certification or registration as a draughtsman or engineer is advantageous
