Piping Foreman

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily piping activities at marine, shipyard, or offshore project sites.
• Lead and manage a team of pipe fitters, pipe fabricators, and piping helpers.
• Plan and allocate daily work activities according to project schedules and priorities.
• Supervise pipe fitting, fabrication, installation, alignment, and erection activities.
• Ensure piping systems are installed according to approved drawings, isometric drawings, and project specifications.
• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
• Coordinate piping work with welding, structural, mechanical, and other project teams.
• Monitor manpower productivity, work progress, and material requirements.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials at the worksite.
• Inspect piping installation, joint preparation, alignment, supports, and fit-up before welding.
• Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors and welding teams for inspections and required testing.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards, HSE procedures, and permit-to-work requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure workers follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Identify and report work delays, technical issues, and material shortages to the site supervisor or engineer.
• Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and other required site documentation.
• Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions at the worksite.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Piping Foreman in marine, shipyard, offshore, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, fitting, installation, and alignment.
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience supervising pipe fitters, fabricators, and helpers.
• Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, and installation practices.
• Familiarity with piping inspection procedures, hydrotesting, and pressure testing coordination.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety and HSE requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Ability to work under project deadlines and manage site activities efficiently.
