Wages starting at $23.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Candidates with mining experience will be preferred. Pay will be determined based on experience.

Boone Quarry is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking candidates to fill our need for an underground Pit Loader Operator in Verona, KY . The successful candidate for this role will operate a front-end loader, effectively communicate with management, other operators, and help maintain a safe work environment.

The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

• Learning and understanding our safety culture and implementing all of Rogers Group’s safety principles without compromise
• Safely and efficiently operate a wheeled front-end loader in an underground environment to load haul trucks, feed material to the primary crusher, and/or manage stockpiles.
• Inspect, clean, and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment (fluids, grease points, tires, lights, etc.).
• Communicate with management, plant operators, and other equipment operators to maintain steady production flow.
• May be called upon at the discretion of the supervisor in charge to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist with other areas as necessary

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• General mechanical knowledge is a plus.
• Must be able to safely climb up and down ladders or steps to mount or dismount equipment using three points of contact.
• Must be able stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform additional job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-starter/ ability to work without close supervision
• Previous experience working in a mining environment preferred
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Overtime is required as needed and may include Saturdays
