Job Overview

We are seeking experienced and intermediate Pitched Roofers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pitched roofs on residential and commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure that roofing projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse roofing projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roof surfaces by stripping old materials and ensuring proper foundation for new installations.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to cut, shape, and install roofing materials accurately.
• Install pitched roofs using appropriate techniques for various materials such as slates, tiles, metal panels, or membranes.
• Perform lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct inspections during and after installation to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing standards are met.
• Collaborate with team members on construction sites, including carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other trades to coordinate project tasks effectively.

Skills

• Proficiency in reading plans and technical drawings related to roofing systems.
• Experience with leadwork and fabrication techniques for custom roofing components.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, saws, and measuring devices.
• Familiarity with construction processes including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and heavy lifting operations.
• Knowledge of roofing materials like shingles, tiles, metal panels, or membranes.
• Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in a construction environment.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to working at heights and handling heavy materials.
• Full driving licence but if you are part of a gang/team we wouldn't expect you all to drive but if you did it's a bonus.
• Relevant roofing certificates an advantage (e.g NVQ, CSCS card)

Pay: £650.00-£800.00 per week
