Pizza Kitchen Staff Associate

Job Summary
Tomacelli's Pizza & Pasta is seeking a dependable and hardworking Pizza Kitchen Staff Associate to support daily kitchen operations, pizza preparation, food production, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will work efficiently with the kitchen team while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, order accuracy, and timely service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing pizza dough, sauces, toppings, pasta ingredients, and other food items.
• Prepare, portion, and organize ingredients for daily kitchen production.
• Assemble pizzas and other menu items according to recipes and customer orders.
• Assist with cooking pizzas, pasta, and other menu items using appropriate kitchen equipment.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain consistent food quality.
• Check completed orders for accuracy, presentation, and proper packaging.
• Assist with preparing dine-in, pickup, and delivery orders.
• Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient order flow.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation stations.
• Restock ingredients, packaging materials, utensils, and kitchen supplies as needed.
• Label, store, and rotate food products according to food safety procedures.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, counters, and work areas.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general kitchen duties.
• Report ingredient shortages, equipment concerns, or order issues to management.
• Support team members during busy service periods and perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous pizza shop, Italian restaurant, kitchen, or food-service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and commercial kitchen procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and preparation instructions.
• Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and order accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely use or learn to use commercial kitchen equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical kitchen tasks.
• Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy periods.
• Willingness to learn different kitchen stations and responsibilities.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
