Pizza Kitchen Steward

Job Summary
Home Slice Pizza is seeking a dependable and hardworking Pizza Kitchen Steward to support daily kitchen operations through cleaning, sanitation, food preparation assistance, and organization. The ideal candidate will help maintain an efficient kitchen environment while supporting pizza cooks and other team members during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen work areas.
• Assist with basic preparation of pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and ingredients.
• Prepare and organize ingredients and supplies for kitchen staff.
• Clean counters, cutting boards, sinks, floors, and food preparation surfaces.
• Properly store clean utensils, equipment, and kitchen supplies.
• Restock ingredients, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and service items.
• Assist pizza cooks with routine kitchen tasks during busy service periods.
• Remove food waste and follow proper disposal procedures.
• Monitor cleaning and supply needs and report shortages to management.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine kitchen cleanup duties.
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and workstations in clean condition.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Promote a clean, organized, and team-oriented kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, pizza shop, restaurant, dishwashing, or food-service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical kitchen tasks for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Willingness to learn and follow established kitchen procedures.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
