Pizza Restaurant Assistant

Job Summary
Newk's Eatery is seeking a dependable, friendly, and team-oriented Pizza Restaurant Assistant to support daily restaurant operations, food preparation, and guest service. The ideal candidate will assist with preparing and assembling food items, supporting kitchen and front-of-house teams, maintaining clean service areas, and helping ensure accurate and efficient customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Prepare, portion, and organize ingredients for daily food service.
• Assist with assembling pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to established procedures.
• Support cooks and food service staff during busy operating periods.
• Assist with preparing and packaging customer orders accurately.
• Verify orders for completeness and proper presentation before handoff.
• Assist with counter service, customer requests, and order pickup when needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, counter, and dining areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and food preparation surfaces.
• Restock ingredients, packaging materials, utensils, napkins, and other supplies.
• Assist with labeling, storing, and rotating food products according to safety procedures.
• Communicate customer requests, order modifications, and supply needs to appropriate team members.
• Remove trash and food waste and maintain an orderly work environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, pizza, kitchen, or food service experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of food preparation and restaurant procedures.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and order accuracy.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
• Good multitasking and organizational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and performing physical restaurant tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of restaurant responsibilities.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
