Job Summary

The Gypsy Poet is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Pizza Restaurant Team Member to support daily restaurant operations and create a welcoming dining experience for guests. This role involves taking orders, assisting with pizza preparation, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and collaborating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Take dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders accurately.
• Assist with preparing pizza ingredients and organizing food preparation stations.
• Support pizza assembly, topping preparation, and order packaging according to established procedures.
• Help prepare and serve pizzas, appetizers, beverages, and other menu items.
• Check orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation.
• Answer customer questions about menu items and assist with basic menu selections.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer payments as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, counters, kitchen spaces, and service stations.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Restock ingredients, pizza boxes, containers, napkins, condiments, and other supplies.
• Follow food handling, storage, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and other team members to support timely service.
• Communicate customer concerns, supply shortages, and equipment issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Handle food, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Support coworkers during busy service periods.
• Follow restaurant policies and established service standards.
• Perform other restaurant and food service duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous pizza restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn pizza preparation and restaurant service procedures.
